As the Market Financial Settlement Center (MFSC) began to operate and initiated monetary practices as required by the Balancing and Settlement Regulation (BSR), the companies in the electricity market with generation licenses, wholesale and retail sale licenses have become market participants.
With the beginning of the operation, substantial changes in the rules regarding the settlement of the participants about energy instabilities have occurred. A single System Imbalance Price which is calculated by taking the periodic weighted average of the hourly system, marginal prices and which involves energy deficit and surplus, have been adapted to settle the instabilities in the sales to the MFSC.
However, it is anticipated that, through an alteration in BSR, direct sales to the MFSC will be outlawed and most of the electricity market which has a monthly volume of 2.3 billion YTL will be reconstructed so as to be based on mutual agreements.
While the companies which keep up with change, lead the change and are innovative and have a vision will get sustainable profits through managing their risks the best way possible, the companies that fall out of change will not be able to appreciate the opportunities and will experience huge losses.
In order to keep up with the change to utilize the opportunities and to prevent risks, the market participants need the procedures regarding demand and price estimations, generation planning, pricing, sales, risk and portfolio management, settlement and invoicing, and the systems that support these procedures.
ENERDA, with its well trained and experienced team, is assertive in terms of providing consultancy service to minimize these risks of the market participants regarding demand and price estimation, generation planning, pricing, sales and portfolio management.
